Great Wall Motor (GWM) has unveiled its GWM WEY G9 Hi4, a new high-end hybrid multi-purpose vehicle packed with advanced technology and luxury features, aiming to redefine the premium MPV segment.
The G9 Hi4 integrates GWM’s latest Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD) powertrain, designed for optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and road grip. This system automatically selects the most suitable energy source for driving conditions.
It combines a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with dual electric motors, managed by an intelligent DHT transmission. This setup delivers a maximum power output of 325 kW (442 PS) and 642 Newton-meters of torque.
The MPV is equipped with a 44.28 kWh ternary lithium battery, providing an all-electric driving range of up to 170 kilometers (NEDC cycle). It supports DC fast charging at 60 kW.
Drivers can choose from various energy modes including EV, EV Priority, and HEV, alongside driving modes such as Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, and intelligent AWD. The electronic all-wheel-drive system automatically distributes torque for enhanced stability.
Inside, the G9 Hi4 offers a spacious cabin with a flat floor and premium NAPPA material seats. The second row features “Zero-Gravity” seats with full electric adjustment, six massage programs, and ventilation, providing a first-class passenger experience.
Further enhancing comfort, the MPV includes a 12.5-liter in-car refrigerator that opens from both front and rear, capable of both cooling and warming items. The cabin is also lit by 64-color ambient lighting.
At the heart of its technology is the Coffee OS 3.3 operating system, powered by AI and supporting voice commands in 21 languages. It integrates Petal Maps Global Navigation with 3D views.
The vehicle features a large 14.6-inch main touchscreen, a 17.3-inch rear screen, and 21 Amor speakers. Connectivity options include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The GWM application allows owners to remotely monitor vehicle status and control functions such as engine start/stop, lock/unlock, and air conditioning.
Safety is a key focus, with features like a 360-degree surround view camera system that includes an under-car “Body Transparent” display. It also offers Full Automatic Parking Assist (APA).
Driver assistance systems include Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with smart cornering assist, Emergency Braking Assist (AEBI) for straight roads and intersections, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Lane Centering Assist (LCK).
The G9 Hi4’s design draws inspiration from oriental aesthetics, featuring elegant and balanced lines. This gives the vehicle a grand presence without appearing bulky.
Measuring 5,050 mm long, 1,985 mm wide, and 1,900 mm high, the MPV has a 3,085 mm wheelbase. It offers a 2+2+3 seating configuration for seven passengers.
Exterior highlights include intelligent LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a hands-free power tailgate with a kick sensor.
The G9 Hi4 will be available in four exterior colors: Nebula Black, Superior Gold, Aurora White, and Wisdom Grey. The interior comes with a black theme complemented by a grey headliner.
