Portuguese Comedian Nuno Markl Updates on Stroke: ‘Hemorrhage Reabsorbing Slowly’

Portuguese comedian and radio host Nuno Markl is recovering in a Portuguese hospital after suffering a stroke this week, directly updating his thousands of social media followers on his condition.

Markl, 54, announced Saturday that a brain hemorrhage, which led to the stroke he suffered Thursday, is “slowly being reabsorbed.” He shared the update on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the support he has received.

“Good morning! Brain hemorrhage being reabsorbed little by little! This is going. Slowly but it is. Thank you for your love!” Markl wrote.

The popular figure is currently hospitalized at São Francisco Xavier Hospital. He was initially observed at Cascais Hospital after the incident occurred.

On Friday, Markl posted a first update on Instagram. He made light of the situation by joking that the experience would provide “material for a good edition” of his show, “O Homem Que Mordeu o Cão” (The Man Who Bit the Dog).

He also shared a more serious message about his slow recovery. Markl used the experience as a lesson for his audience, stating, “we are not supermen.”
