The circumstances surrounding Lofranco’s death are currently under investigation in British Columbia, Canada. The exact cause has not yet been determined.
Lofranco’s most notable role was opposite John Travolta, who portrayed John Gotti Sr., in Gotti. The film also featured the late Kelly Preston.
Beyond Gotti, Lofranco made his debut as Conrad Hartman in the 2013 romantic comedy At Middleton. He also starred as James Burn in the 2014 crime drama Jamesy Boy.
His other credits include Angelina Jolie’s 2014 war drama Unbroken and the 2015 short film Home. Lofranco also appeared in Dixieland (2015) and King Cobra (2016).
Lofranco told Interview magazine in 2014 that he decided to pursue acting at 17. He described himself as always being "funny" and "the center of attention."
He attended summer acting classes before completing a year at the New York Film Academy conservatory. It was after this that he secured his role in Jamesy Boy.
Working with Angelina Jolie on Unbroken was a surreal experience for him. He joked about people not believing he was an actor, sometimes telling them he was an "artist, lawyer, or studying engineering" in Los Angeles.
Lofranco also shared his aspirations beyond acting. He said he would "probably move to Africa and help with the effort there" to support children in need.
He expressed a desire to make "sincere, real-life films" and be "wise" with his career choices. Lofranco admired actors such as Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and River Phoenix.
