Bollywood Socialite Orry Skips Police Summons in $30M Drug Probe, Seeks Delay

Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry, failed to appear before Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) for questioning. The summons relates to a significant $30.2 million Mephedrone drug case.

Orry’s legal representative attended on Thursday. They requested an extension until November 25 for his appearance.

Orry cited personal reasons for his current unavailability. Senior ANC officials will now decide whether to grant this extension.

The influencer’s name emerged during the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, also known as ‘Lavish’. Shaikh is a key accused in the large-scale drug operation.

Shaikh reportedly claimed that film industry personalities, fashion figures, a member of a political family, and relatives of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim attended rave parties he organized. Orry’s name was included in this list.

Shaikh, described as a close associate of gangster Salim Dola, was recently brought back to India from Dubai. He is believed to be a central figure in Mephedrone manufacturing and supply networks.

His initial arrest followed the seizure of $30.2 million worth of Mephedrone from a drug factory in Sangli, Maharashtra, last year. The ANC’s Ghatkopar unit later took him into custody.

Currently, Orry has only been summoned for questioning; no direct criminal complaint has been filed against him. However, new information from future interrogations could lead to further complications for the socialite.

The case has drawn significant attention due to Orry’s prominent social media presence and his close ties to Bollywood.
