Sasha Farber, former Dancing With the Stars professional dancer, expressed full support for his ex-wife Emma Slater and her new boyfriend, Alan Bersten.
Farber commented "Congrats, guys" with a clapping emoji on Slater’s recent Instagram video. Slater responded, "Thanks, Sash."
The video, posted by Slater on November 18, showed her kissing Bersten. This followed the announcement that Bersten and celebrity partner Elaine Hendrix advanced to the DWTS finals.
Slater, 36, captioned her post about Bersten, 31, saying, "My boyfriend is a finalist. Again. What a champion. So proud of you." She also congratulated Hendrix. Bersten replied, "I love you, babe."
Slater and Farber had a long-term relationship, getting engaged on DWTS in 2016 and marrying in 2018. They separated in 2023 and finalized their divorce in 2024.
Slater discussed the reasons for their split on "The Viall Files" podcast in 2023. The issue centered on expanding their family.
She stated that she wants children but did not want to delay Farber’s path to parenthood. She admitted she was still figuring things out for herself.
Us Weekly reported in 2024 that Slater began her relationship with fellow DWTS pro Bersten. They have publicly displayed their affection this season.
Farber himself was briefly linked to former DWTS partner Jen Tran, but their relationship ended by June.
He later addressed questions about any "awkwardness" with Slater and Bersten on a TikTok live. Farber firmly stated, "No, not at all."
He added, "It’s definitely not awkward. I’m very happy for her and Alan, and I wish them all the best."
Farber also offered a philosophical take on moving on. He noted that "things don’t always work out" and emphasized that "hate makes no sense."
He concluded that people should thank each other for good times and then move on, wishing the other person well. He believes hatred only consumes one internally.
