Pop superstar Ariana Grande indicated her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour will be her last major concert series for an extended period. The 32-year-old artist shared this perspective during a recent interview.
"I think the last 10, 15 years will be very different from the next ones," Grande said on the Tuesday, November 18 episode of the "Good Hang With Amy Poehler" podcast. She stressed that she did not want to state anything definitive.
Grande elaborated on her decision, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. "I know I’m very excited to do this little tour, but I think maybe it won’t happen again for a very, very, very long time," she stated. "I’m going to give it my all, it’s going to be beautiful and I’m very grateful. I think that’s why I’m doing it, because I think, ‘One last big concert!’ — for now."
The Eternal Sunshine Tour was announced in August, approximately 18 months after the release of her album of the same name. That album featured hit singles "Yes And?" and "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)."
The tour is set to include 41 concerts across North America and Europe, running from June to September 2026. Key stops include the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and London’s O2 Arena.
This will mark Grande’s first tour since her 2019 Sweetener World Tour. That extensive tour comprised 100 concerts and generated $146.6 million USD.
Grande’s career focus appears to be shifting increasingly towards acting in recent years. She starred in the 2024 film Wicked, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
She is also set to appear in the upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good. Additionally, Grande filmed a role in Focker In-Law, the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents franchise, which wrapped production last month. She will also join the thirteenth season of American Horror Story; both projects are slated for release next year.
Grande explained this pivot, noting her early passions. "I spent a lot of time dedicating myself only to pop music, but I grew up being a girl who loved musical theater and comedy," she told "Good Hang." She emphasized following impulses that feel right for her soul and art.
The singer cited a "fun" script and an all-star cast as reasons for joining Focker In-Law. Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo are also featured in the movie.
"I’m very excited," Grande shared regarding her future projects. "Then I’ll do a small series of performances next year because it’s something that really sounded good to me."
She further added that "following those authentic impulses seems like a very good idea" at this stage of her career.
Despite plans for a touring hiatus, Grande recently assured fans that her time working on Wicked rekindled her affection for music.
"There was something broken in my relationship with pop music that healed recently thanks to the time I spent away," she shared with The New York Times earlier this month. Grande noted her pop music journey "got out of hand in a way I didn’t expect." She also reflected that "there’s something that comes along with your dreams coming true that sometimes feels dangerous."
