Since the birth of the saga in 2008 with Iron Man, Disney launched his gargantuan Marvel cinematic universe who, in addition to bringing together a huge range of characters in the same world, will have allowed the twenty-four films of the firm to bring back the trifle of $ 22.588 billion in revenue around the world (July 2021). Add to that a universe that is starting to gain momentum on Disney + and you will come to a simple observation: the MCU still has a bright future ahead of him, especially as it allows for the arrival of Kang and the multiverse, the film franchise seems to have found an excellent replacement for Thanos and its infinity stones.
Now, Phase 4 seems to focus on introducing a lot of new characters. Shang-Chi will have his solo adventure on September 1st, and the Eternals, group of new heroes, will arrive in November. There will also be a lot to do for Kevin feige and his subordinates concerning the theme of the multiverse, since it will be necessary to continue the adventures of Doctor Strange (Doctor Strange in the multiverse of Madness), Thor (Love and Thunder), Spiderman (No Way Home), the Guardians of the Galaxy (vol.3) or Captain marvel (The Marvel’s). By introducing many more new characters, the observation appears clear: it will take time before a Avengers 5, and for a lot of reasons.
Steve weintraub for Collider asked Kevin feige, during a promotional interview for Shang-Chi, when we see the next team Avengers development. The big boss of MCU seems to have kicked in touch, invoking the need to take the time to introduce the new characters:
“I think we want there to be a reasonable amount of time from the final stage to start a new saga, which is already underway and has already started. And then we need time, like we did in phase 1, to build this saga before we start bringing everyone together. ”
Even if we will be dealing with introductory films in the next few days, this will be perfect to mark a break in the MCU after the mastodons Infinity war and Endgame released at an interval of one year. Especially since most of the productions that arrive will bring together several key characters from the MCU in the same movie (Elizabeth Olsen “Wanda Maximoff” will appear in Doctor Strange 2 while this same Strange will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home). We will therefore have to wait, at least, for the year 2025. But one thing is certain, the MCU is gone to last a very long time.
