SS Rajamouli Draws Backlash for Controversial Comments on Lord Hanuman

Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli is currently facing significant backlash on social media. The controversy stems from remarks he made about Lord Hanuman at a recent film event. Users online have widely condemned his statements as disgraceful.

The incident occurred on Saturday during a grand event in Varanasi for his upcoming film, ‘Varanasi’. Rajamouli, known for blockbuster hits, was present alongside the film’s cast, including Priyanka Chopra, Mahesh Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

During the event, Rajamouli expressed frustration over technical problems. He stated, “This is an emotional moment for me. I don’t believe in God. But my father came and said Lord Hanuman will take care of everything. Is this how he takes care of things? This thought makes me angry.”

He further added, “When my father spoke about Hanuman and suggested relying on his blessings for success, I got very angry.” Rajamouli linked the technical glitches directly to his father’s advice.

Despite some fans suggesting Rajamouli’s comments were made out of nervousness, social media users quickly expressed their outrage. They criticized his remarks as disrespectful.

One user wrote, “We all know you’re an atheist rajamouli but don’t dare to drag Lord Hanuman into your nonsense. Your careless and arrogant remarks are disgraceful. If you’re frustrated take it out on your own team and family who are responsible for this pathetic mismanagement, not on our gods.”

Another user commented, “Rajamauli said something about Lord Hanuman which he shouldn’t have.”

A third user expressed similar disappointment. They posted, “Blaming Hanuman for some technical glitch for whom humans aren’t equal to a partical of sand. Never expected this cheap behaviour from him for such a tinpot thing man.”
