Alverca right-back Nabil Touaizi has voiced strong confidence in the club’s ability to maintain its league status, despite a season marked by new structures and recent injury setbacks.
The 24-year-old Hispano-Moroccan has been a critical player for Alverca, featuring in 13 matches and being one of the most consistently utilized by coach Custodio Castro in the initial third of the season.
Touaizi emphasized that the primary goal for the club is securing “maintenance” in the top division, a league Alverca has not competed in for many years.
He believes the current league break presents a valuable opportunity for the team to recover from a spate of injuries.
“Regardless of the breaks, we always work the same way and to the maximum of our abilities,” Touaizi said. “We’ve had some bad luck with injuries and it’s always good when there’s time to recover players and have the opportunity to face games with everyone available and together as a team.”
He added, “The truth is we always want to play, give joy to the fans, and show progress, as I feel we have shown.”
Touaizi characterized Alverca as a very recent project, featuring many new players, a new structure, and even a new stadium.
“We have confidence in the work we are developing,” he stated, adding that he believes the team is “on a good path” to achieve its objectives.
Touaizi offered a positive assessment of the campaign so far.
