Veteran Counter-Strike 2 player Håvard “rain” Nygaard has joined esports organization 100 Thieves, embarking on a new professional challenge after nearly a decade with FaZe and a recent period on the sidelines.
The move was announced by 100 Thieves on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surprising the Counter-Strike community. Nygaard, known by his in-game name “rain,” shared his excitement about the new opportunity.
I have found a new home in 100 thieves and a new and exciting challenge is about to start. A lot of work to be done but will do everything I can to get back to the top! pic.twitter.com/1o2zxf0Q5B

The Norwegian professional stated on X that he had “found a new home in 100 Thieves and a new and exciting challenge is about to start.” He added, “A lot of work to be done but will do everything I can to get back to the top!”
This move follows FaZe’s announcement in September 2025 that Nygaard was placed on their reserve bench. He had been a core member of FaZe since January 2016, a tenure spanning nearly ten years.
Nygaard’s last competitive match for FaZe was a best-of-three series against MOUZ in ESL Pro League Season 22, which ended in a defeat. His departure from FaZe had sparked various speculations in recent months.
In October 2025, unconfirmed rumors suggested rain might reunite with a former teammate after a cryptic post by BC.Game Esports, an organization featuring Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev. These rumors were never substantiated.
Before his long stint with FaZe, Nygaard competed with several other teams. His career included periods with organizations such as G2, Kinguin, LGB, London Conspiracy, and partyastronauts.
