Brazilian esports is set to award over $60,000 in prize money, featuring a record-setting payout for an inclusive women’s Counter-Strike tournament taking place this week.
The Rainhas do Clutch (Queens of Clutch) competition will distribute $30,000 USD (150,000 Brazilian Reais), marking it as the highest prize pool ever for an inclusive esports event in Brazil.
This amount contributes to a combined prize pool exceeding $60,000 USD (300,000 Brazilian Reais) for the entire “Xeque-Mate: Rainhas do Clutch X CBCS” series. The Rio de Janeiro State Federation of Electronic Sports (FERJEE) is organizing the event.
The Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) championship will run from November 13 to November 16, hosted at the Cidade das Artes venue in Rio de Janeiro.
The Rainhas do Clutch tournament for women runs from November 13-14. It features a double-elimination format with all matches played as best-of-three series.
The Circuito Brasileiro de Counter-Strike (CBCS) takes the spotlight on November 15 for its semifinals, which are single-elimination best-of-three. The grand final for both tournaments concludes on November 16, with the CBCS final played as a best-of-five series.
Prominent teams participating in Rainhas do Clutch include Atrix, Four Magic, FURIA, and MIBR. The CBCS tournament will feature Vivo Keyd Stars, Bounty Hunters, 9F Sharks, and Fake do Biru.
Admission to the event is free. Tickets can be obtained online through the Sympla website, with a limit of one ticket per person per day due to venue capacity.
