Three Argentine Stars Miss Angola Friendly: Yellow Fever Vaccine Required

Three key Argentine national team players, including Manchester City’s Julián Alvarez, have been omitted from an upcoming friendly against Angola because they did not have the mandatory yellow fever vaccinations required for entry into the African nation.

Coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed that Alvarez, along with Nahuel Molina and Giuliano Simeone, will miss Friday’s match in Luanda. Angolan regulations stipulate that all arrivals must be vaccinated against yellow fever.

In response to the exclusions, Scaloni has called up Kevin Mac Allister from St. Gilloise and Emiliano Buendía of Aston Villa as replacements.

Another player, Enzo Fernández, will also not participate in the friendly, though his absence is attributed to “effort management.”
