Two elderly men died from separate medical emergencies on the second day of the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, authorities confirmed Tuesday. The two incidents, occurring hours apart, involved spectators at different locations associated with the major tennis tournament.
A 78-year-old man collapsed in the stands during a group-stage match between Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti. Medical personnel at the arena immediately attended to him.
He was stabilized and transported to a central city hospital. However, he arrived in critical condition and later succumbed.
Hours earlier, a 70-year-old man experienced a similar medical emergency in the Fan Village located at Piazza d’Armi.
He also received rapid medical assistance on site and was taken to a hospital. Despite efforts, he could not be saved and died.
