Man Utd Fans Furious at $127 Tour for New $63.5M Training Center

Manchester United is facing fan fury over the pricing and rules for guided tours of its recently upgraded training complex, reigniting accusations that the club prioritizes profit over supporter accessibility.

The club plans to offer a new tour package that combines a visit to Old Trafford with a bus trip to its Carrington training facilities. Fans can explore new locker rooms, the gym, recovery areas, the press room, and the players’ lounge during the four-hour experience.

However, the announced ticket price of approximately $125 (100 British pounds) per person, with no discounts for children or seniors, has sparked widespread indignation on social media. Critics accuse the club of prioritizing revenue over its fanbase.

Further fueling the backlash, a report by The Sun newspaper indicates that visitors will be prohibited from taking photographs of the facilities, player areas, or team areas.

The tour’s scheduled opening in June 2026, coinciding with the start of the FIFA World Cup, has also drawn criticism from fans regarding its timing.

The current administration, led by Jim Ratcliffe, had made renovating the Carrington complex a priority following years of criticism, including from former player Cristiano Ronaldo, about its outdated facilities. In August 2025, the club unveiled the new state-of-the-art training center after an investment of approximately $62.5 million (50 million British pounds).

Accusations of greed against the Ratcliffe administration have become frequent in recent times. The club has previously faced protests over match ticket prices for games at Old Trafford.

Currently, the cheapest seat at the stadium costs around $74 (59 British pounds), while the most expensive can reach approximately $121 (97 British pounds).
