Divya Kumar Replaced on Bollywood Song, Refuses Studio Pay for Shah Rukh Khan

Singer Divya Kumar has revealed he originally recorded the song “Tenu Ki Pata” for Aryan Khan’s debut web series, “The Beds of Bollywood.” The track was later replaced by Diljit Dosanjh’s rendition in the final version of the show.

Kumar shared details about the unexpected change during a recent digital interview. He described receiving a significant opportunity from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment for the series.

Despite recording the song, Kumar’s voice was ultimately not used. Red Chillies Entertainment then offered him substantial compensation.

However, Kumar declined the payment. He explained his refusal was deeply personal, stemming from his profound respect for Shah Rukh Khan and his company.

Kumar recounted becoming emotional while at the production office. He considers Shah Rukh Khan a major inspiration who shaped his career.

He described frequently crying outside Khan’s residence, Mannat, after facing rejections, finding strength and motivation there. For Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan represents a guiding, divine force in his life.

Divya Kumar has lent his voice to several hit Bollywood songs. His popular tracks include “Jee Karda,” “Shubhaarambh,” “Sun Saathiya,” and “Havan Karenge.”

He also sang “Ishqbaazi,” a song featured on Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in the film “Zero.”
