R6 Major Munich: W7M Esports Bright Spot for Brazil’s Struggling Teams

Brazilian esports powerhouses largely faltered on the opening day of the BLAST R6 Major Munich, though W7M Esports provided a lone beacon of success.

Three of the four Brazilian teams participating in the Rainbow Six Siege tournament struggled significantly, accumulating five total defeats across their initial matches. The unexpected performance left most of the region’s representatives with unfavorable records.

W7M Esports, however, emerged as the only Brazilian squad to maintain an undefeated record on Saturday. The team secured two decisive victories, overcoming both Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) and ENTERPRISE.

Their strong start places W7M Esports with a 2-0 match record, putting them just one series win away from advancing to the playoffs.

In stark contrast, FURIA and Ninjas in Pyjamas faced a challenging start, each suffering two losses. FURIA fell to DPLUS Kia and Shopify Rebellion, while NIP lost to fellow Brazilian team W7M and Weibo Gaming. Both teams ended the day with 0-2 records.

FaZe Clan managed one victory against CAG Osaka but also registered a loss against M80, closing the day with an even 1-1 record.

The BLAST R6 Major Munich, held in Germany, is the first and only Major for the game in 2025. Sunday’s matches will be crucial for the struggling Brazilian organizations hoping to secure a spot in the next stage of the competition.
