The controversy stems from a clip Orry shared from a comedy event. The event featured two actors portraying transgender women engaged in a comedic fight.
Orry’s accompanying caption stated, “You went to a comedy show and two ‘chakkas’ fought behind you.” He also wrote, “But how can she slap?” The term “chakkas” is considered derogatory.
Social media users quickly condemned the post. Many netizens deemed the language offensive and an insult to the transgender community.
Calls for an apology from Orry have intensified across various platforms. Users stressed that such humor is not acceptable and demonstrates insensitivity.
Orry is a prominent Mumbai-based social media influencer with over a million followers on Instagram. He is known for his close friendships with Bollywood star kids and his frequent appearances at celebrity events.
A Parsons School of Design graduate, Orry is also recognized for his distinctive one-liners and glamorous lifestyle. He made a cameo in Aryan Khan’s debut series, ‘Bads of Bollywood’.
