The film, starring Demetrius Schuster-Kolomataangi and Elle Fanning, collected an impressive $271,000 on its first day in India. While receiving mixed reviews, its thrilling action and scary visuals reportedly captivated Indian audiences.
In contrast, Bollywood’s new legal drama “HaQ,” featuring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, earned $199,000 on its opening day. Inspired by the Shah Bano case, the film is expected to see a boost over the weekend.
The pan-India release “Jatadhara,” starring Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha, struggled to attract viewers. It managed to collect only $114,000 on its first day.
Rashmika Mandanna’s “The Girlfriend” opened with $157,000. The film is generating buzz among young audiences. Critics suggest positive word-of-mouth could drive weekend collections higher.
Among films already in theaters, Paresh Rawal’s “The Taj Story” added $108,000 on Friday. Its total collection now stands at $1.43 million against a reported budget of $301,000 to $361,000.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s “Thama” continued its strong run, earning $96,000 on Friday. Its cumulative box office total has reached $15.41 million, attracting audiences into its third week.
Hathvardhan Rane’s “Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat” secured $87,000 on Friday. The film’s total collection is now $8.7 million.
Meanwhile, Prabhas’s “Baahubali: The Epic,” a combined version of the original films, continues to draw viewers seeking nostalgia. It collected $34,000 on Friday, pushing its overall total to $3.71 million.
