Olympiacos has secured Portuguese defender Costinha with a new long-term contract, extending his stay until 2029 and signaling the club’s commitment to its core players.
The Greek football club announced the agreement Friday, solidifying the 25-year-old’s position within the squad.
Costinha expressed pride and happiness over the extension, viewing it as recognition of a successful period. “It is a feeling of pride and happiness,” he said. “It is a sign that we had a good season.”
The defender has made 52 appearances for the main team since joining, with 13 of those coming in the current season.

Costinha stated confidence in the team’s future. He hopes the current season will match or surpass the previous one’s achievements.
He highlighted the prior season as “incredible,” both on and off the field. That period saw the club win a domestic double and compete in European competitions.
Costinha is currently in his second season with Olympiacos, having transferred from Rio Ave. He spent four seasons with the Portuguese club before moving to Greece for the 2024/25 season.
Olympiacos currently features four other Portuguese players: Chiquinho, Diogo Nascimento, Gelson Martins, and Daniel Podence.
