FC Porto Forward Samu Called Up to Spain Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Spain’s national football team coach Luis de la Fuente has unveiled a squad blending experienced players with emerging young talents for their decisive upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

FC Porto forward Samu is among the promising new faces called up for Spain’s final qualifying matches against Georgia on November 15 and Turkey on November 18.

Adding further attacking potential, winger Lamine Yamal also returns to the squad. He was absent from the previous call-up due to an injury.

Samu, despite his latest inclusion, has played three times for the senior national team but has yet to score a goal.

The full squad announced by De la Fuente features a mix of established names and players seeking to make their mark.

Goalkeepers selected are Raya, Remiro, and Unai Simón.

The defensive line includes Marcos Llorente, Pedro Porro, Laporte, Cubarsí, Huijsen, Vivian, Grimaldo, and Cucurella.

Midfielders named to the squad are Mikel Merino, Aleix García, Fabián Ruiz, Zubimendi, Pablo Fornals, Baena, and Barrios.

The forwards called up are Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, Yeremy Pino, Lamine Yamal, Fermín, Oyarzabal, Borja Iglesias, and Samu.
