Miss Chile in TikTok Controversy: Drug-Simulating Video Risks Crown

Miss Chile, Inna Moll, has ignited controversy on social media following a TikTok video deemed by many as insensitive. The incident has drawn sharp criticism as the Miss Universe competition approaches.

Moll, who is set to represent Chile on November 21, shared a video that quickly went viral. It depicted her participating in a TikTok trend called ‘Addicted to you.’

The video shows Moll during a makeup session. She appears to dust compact powder onto her arm, then simulates snorting the cosmetic. Immediately afterward, the video transitions to her fully made-up appearance.

Critics widely interpreted the gesture as an allusion to drug consumption. Many social media users harshly condemned the 28-year-old influencer.

One commenter wrote, “She lost the crown in a second.” Other remarks suggested the decision was regrettable, lacked experience, and showed poor judgment.

The controversy comes during a sensitive period for the Miss Universe organization. Recent disputes, including one involving Fátima Bosch and executive director Nawat Itsaragrisil, have heightened public scrutiny ahead of the event in Thailand.

Hours after the video gained traction, Inna Moll issued an apology on her Instagram stories. She expressed surprise at the video’s virality and apologized to anyone who found it offensive or inappropriate.

Moll also claimed she felt pressured by her makeup artist to create the video. She stated the artist uploaded the footage without her full agreement regarding the controversial gesture.

“The person who uploaded that video was a makeup artist, and that makeup artist told me: ‘Record this.’ And I don’t know if it was because of the language, that we weren’t understanding each other well, because I was telling him no and he kept going and going, and with everything that’s happening, I didn’t refuse,” Moll explained.

She acknowledged that she should have firmly declined the request. However, Moll affirmed she must now apologize and continue preparing for the pageant.

“I should have absolutely refused and not done it, but that’s how it was, the video is up, and I deeply regret if some people felt offended,” she shared. Moll concluded her statement by adding, “I love you all very much, this is just beginning, and well, I’m still super happy.”

Inna Moll, born in Santiago, Chile, in 1998, first rose to prominence as a content creator on YouTube and TikTok. She is known for her authentic style and connection with young audiences.

With over 2 million followers across her social media platforms, Moll has combined her modeling career with volunteer work. She has also engaged in environmental activism from a young age.

A licensed advertising professional, Moll has collaborated with international brands. She has established herself as an influential Chilean figure of her generation.

Her participation in Miss Universe aims not only for the crown. She also seeks to highlight causes like emotional well-being and ocean conservation, topics particularly important to her due to her ties to Chile’s coastlines.
