Fired Matlock Actor David Del Rio Hires Kim Kardashian’s Lawyer Amid Assault Claims

David Del Rio has hired high-profile attorney Shawn Holley, known for representing Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber. This move comes weeks after Del Rio’s dismissal from the CBS legal drama “Matlock.”

The actor, 38, was abruptly fired following an investigation into sexual assault allegations. The claims involved his “Matlock” co-star Leah Lewis.

Holley, 63, has a client roster that includes celebrities like Kim Kardashian, 45, Justin Bieber, and Lindsay Lohan. TMZ first reported Del Rio’s hiring of Holley on Wednesday, November 5.

An alleged incident between Del Rio and Lewis, 28, occurred in late September. Lewis reported it to CBS days later.

Del Rio was “immediately fired and escorted off set” after Lewis’s report. This was confirmed by Deadline at the time.

Del Rio has not made any public statements regarding his dismissal. However, Leah Lewis addressed the situation last month via Instagram.

“Mom is here, we move forward with love and strength. I am in good hands,” Lewis wrote. She added, “Thank you all for your support and love. Truly, we move forward with strength. Keyword, strength. Please let that be what remains.”

The second season of “Matlock” premiered on October 12. Del Rio’s character, Billy, was already expected to be written out of the show later in the season.

Before his firing, the show featured an emotional scene between Billy (Del Rio) and Sarah (Lewis) in the October 23 episode. Billy defended Sarah during a workplace conflict with another character.

Billy told the character Olympia, “Stop manipulating Sarah.” Sarah later thanked Billy for standing up for her, acknowledging his actions “meant a lot.”
