Street Fighter Co-star Andrew Schulz Teased Jammwal, Mistaking His Clothes for Costume

Andrew Schulz, co-star in Vidyut Jammwal’s Hollywood debut, “Street Fighter,” recently shared an amusing anecdote about their first meeting on set. Schulz recounted the story during the Brilliant Idiots podcast with Akash Singh.

Schulz admitted he initially mistook Jammwal’s distinctive attire for a costume. He began teasing Jammwal, thinking he was already dressed as his character, Dhalsim. The production crew then clarified that Jammwal’s outfit was simply his everyday clothing.

Vidyut Jammwal is set to portray Dhalsim in the live-action reboot of the popular video game franchise. He is currently filming action sequences in the United States. Jammwal, known for his martial arts prowess, also educated other cast members on various techniques.

Discussing Jammwal’s personal habits, Schulz mentioned the actor’s unique views on nutrition. Jammwal reportedly believes that protein is “a myth.”

It was later confirmed that Vidyut Jammwal is vegan. He has maintained this lifestyle and routine for over a decade, consistently relying on plant-based protein for his fitness journey.

The film features a star-studded cast alongside Jammwal, including Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Kalina Liang, Roman Reigns, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Eric Andre, 50 Cent, and Jason Momoa. Kitao Sakurai directs the upcoming picture.

“Street Fighter” is slated for a theatrical release in October 2026.
