St. Juste posts powerful lyrics: ‘Showed too much love to people who didn’t deserve it’

Dutch defender Jeremiah St. Juste has publicly expressed sentiments of betrayal and determination through an Instagram post, following his recent relegation to Sporting CP’s B team after declining transfer offers.

In the post, St. Juste quoted lyrics from the song ‘Loyalty Over Love,’ stating, “I showed too much love to some people who didn’t deserve it. (…) I gave them a helping hand and they hurt me. Look, I was just trying to be honest, but they played dirty. It’s good to be a true guy, but sometimes it doesn’t seem worth it.”

The post also featured a short motivational video of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and images of the player engaged in intensive gym work with a physical trainer in the Greater Lisbon region. This shared content underscored his commitment to readiness. Teammate Viktor Gyökeres was among those who publicly supported the post. Another image caption read: “Faith and do what it takes to stay prepared.”

St. Juste, a central defender, was moved to Sporting CP’s B team following his reported rejection of multiple proposals to transfer out of the club. His Instagram post was simply captioned “Work, just.”
