Portugal’s national Social Security application now offers English language support, a move designed to enhance accessibility for the country’s growing international resident population.
The update aims to simplify the app’s use for all citizens and foster greater inclusion in accessing vital Social Security information.
Foreign residents can now navigate their social benefits and contributions more easily. Users can switch to English by accessing the “Menu” and then “Settings” within the application.
Beyond the language option, the app also introduced a new virtual assistant. This chat feature helps clarify questions about various social supports.
These supports include family allowances, parental subsidies, unemployment benefits, sickness aid, and income for social integration.
Additionally, the platform now integrates MB Way, enabling direct payments to Social Security from within the official app.
