Ayushmann Khurrana Praises Varun Dhawan’s “Rhythm” as ‘Thaama’ Hits $12 Million

Ayushmann Khurrana has highly praised Varun Dhawan following their collaboration in the recently released film Thama. Khurrana described Dhawan as an "excellent artist." Their film has achieved significant box office success, grossing over $12 million USD in its first nine days.

Khurrana also highlighted their shared professional origins. Both actors launched their careers in 2012. Khurrana’s Vicky Donor and Dhawan’s Student of the Year debuted that same year.

Khurrana spoke positively about working with Dhawan. He called him "one of the best people" and a "very good co-actor." This sentiment comes amidst social media comparisons between the two stars.

The actor particularly lauded Dhawan’s performance in action sequences. Khurrana noted the precise choreography for the fight scenes. He stated that no one incurred any injuries during filming.

He emphasized the importance of a co-actor with a sense of rhythm. "If you can dance, you can fight in films," Khurrana explained. He sees fight choreography as akin to dance, requiring a specific beat and timing.

Khurrana also revealed the inspiration behind a notable dialogue in Thama. He created the line "Vikas Puri ke Wolverine." This was to add a local Delhi flavor to the script.

Delhi holds personal significance for Khurrana. It was where he had his first job, and his mother is from the city. He considers it a second home, despite being from Chandigarh.

Thama is part of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe. Varun Dhawan’s character from Bhediya, another film in this universe, makes a cameo appearance. The film continues to perform well in theaters.

In addition to Khurrana and Dhawan, Thama features Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and Faisal Malik in key roles.
