Actors Rajinikanth, Dhanush Receive Bomb Threats, Reject Security Sweep

Superstar Rajinikanth and his son-in-law Dhanush were targets of bomb threats this week. Tamil Nadu police confirmed the incidents on Tuesday.

Despite the serious nature of the threats, both prominent actors reportedly declined police assistance. An official noted their teams explicitly refused help from bomb disposal squads.

The Director General of Police (DGP) received emails claiming explosive devices were planted at the actors’ residences. Cyber crime police are actively tracking the origin of these threatening communications.

Rajinikanth’s home in Tenampet received the first bomb threat email around 8:30 AM on October 27. His security team turned down an offer for a security inspection at that time.

A second threat targeting Rajinikanth arrived later the same day, around 6:30 PM. His team again declined a police inspection.

Dhanush also received a bomb threat email on October 27. A police officer confirmed that he similarly “declined our assistance.”

Investigations into the emails are ongoing, but no arrests or specific actions beyond tracking have been reported so far.

This incident is part of a recent trend of bomb threats in Tamil Nadu. Actor-turned-politician Vijay previously faced similar threats.

Actresses Trisha and Nayanthara have also been targets of such intimidation.

The region has seen a rise in general bomb threats recently, including those directed at schools. These threats have caused panic and led to evacuations.
