FC Porto midfielder Pablo Rosario has dismissed the emotional impact of the club’s first loss of the season, attributing the 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest to an inevitable end to their unbeaten run, despite questioning controversial penalty calls.
Rosario, a Dominican international, stated that the team had anticipated such a result. “We knew that defeat would come one day,” he commented after the match.
He described the encounter as “a difficult game” and “intense,” adding that he felt the contest was “50/50.”
However, Rosario explicitly challenged the referee’s decisions regarding Nottingham Forest’s goals. “For me, they were not penalties, but the referee decided that way, and now we just have to move on,” he said.
The loss marked the first time FC Porto had been beaten this season. Nottingham Forest had recently appointed a new coach ahead of the match.
Rosario also highlighted a disallowed equalizer from Bednarek, suggesting it would have “given new energy” to the team had it been validated. He stressed the importance of moving forward, stating, “it’s decided, and we can’t do anything now, but we’ll be there on Monday.”
