Former cricketer and actor Yograj Singh has issued a public apology to his son, star cricketer Yuvraj Singh, and his first wife, Shabnam. This significant shift comes after a recent near-death experience which he claims prompted a profound change of heart.
Singh revealed on the Fivewood Podcast that he now harbors numerous regrets about his past actions, a stark contrast to his long-held public stance.
Known for his strict demeanor, Singh had previously stated he had no regrets in life, except for his mother’s passing. He had also openly discussed his stringent methods in Yuvraj’s upbringing and acknowledged mistreatment of Shabnam.
During the podcast interview, Singh admitted to making many mistakes throughout his life. He offered a heartfelt apology, joining his hands in a gesture of humility, and specifically asked for forgiveness from his son and first wife. He extended this plea to anyone he might have harmed.
The dramatic transformation followed a medical emergency several months ago. Singh experienced severe stomach pain and was rushed to a hospital.
Doctors informed him he required surgery with a very low chance of survival. He attributes his recovery to a miracle, an experience he stated profoundly altered his perspective on life.
Singh had previously maintained that if given another opportunity, he would raise Yuvraj in the exact same strict manner. His current stance is a complete departure, now expressing a desire for spiritual liberation.
Yuvraj Singh and his mother, Shabnam, separated from Yograj Singh when Yuvraj was 17 years old.
