Offset recently opened up about his past mistakes during his marriage to rap superstar Cardi B. He shared these honest thoughts on the "Baby, This Is Keke Palmer" podcast, in an episode that aired on Tuesday, October 7.
The Migos rapper, 33, told Keke Palmer that his divorce from Cardi B, 32, isn’t final yet. Cardi first filed for divorce in July 2024, after they had been married for six years. Offset explained that they are "still in it" regarding the legal process.
He admitted his biggest regret was not being faithful to Cardi. "I should have respected her much more," Offset said. "I made bad decisions, like being unfaithful." He knew he had to face these actions, especially after she decided to leave. Offset reflected on their shared life and children, acknowledging he was "being selfish." He said he can admit that "as a man."
Offset also wishes their relationship hadn’t been so public. He felt things spun "out of control a couple of times" because of the constant scrutiny online. He mentioned feeling "harassed." He usually stayed quiet, but recently tried to speak up and defend himself because "the narrative is disgusting."
If he could go back and change things, Offset wishes their romance "never would have been public." He noted that everyone saw "everything." He was clear that he wasn’t "perfect in this situation," admitting he made "many mistakes." He also added that Cardi made mistakes too.
Offset is ready for the divorce to be finalized. He believes that once it’s over, the focus should shift to what they both love: making music and art. He feels this breakup shouldn’t define their legacy. He said, "I’m ready for it to end."
Meanwhile, Cardi B has moved on to a new chapter. Her representative confirmed in August 2024 that she had filed for divorce. Her rep told Us magazine that it has been "a long and friendly process."
Cardi, known for her hit "Magnet," started dating NFL star Stefon Diggs in late 2024. In September, she announced that she is expecting her fourth child, her first with Diggs, 31.
