Tom Holland Recovers from Concussion on Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set

Great news for Spider-Man fans and well-wishers of Tom Holland! The beloved actor shared an update on his health, letting everyone know he’s on the mend after a concussion. This injury happened while filming Marvel Studios’ much-anticipated movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

"I’m feeling better and recovering," the 29-year-old star posted on Instagram on Saturday, September 27. His message came as part of a post celebrating a charity event for his family’s organization, The Brothers Trust, held in London. Fans breathed a sigh of relief seeing their favorite web-slinger bounce back so quickly.

Holland’s brief pause from filming was a safety measure, according to a report from Variety. The injury occurred on September 19. Luckily, no other cast or crew members were hurt. Filming was set to pick back up just a few days later, on Monday, September 29, assuming no more issues popped up.

Despite his recent injury, Holland looked cheerful and strong. He was seen alongside his fiancée, Zendaya, in video clips from a "Tom Holland Pub Night" that took place on September 21. This fun evening was all about raising money for The Brothers Trust, a charity his parents, Nikki and Dominic Holland, started in 2017. The organization is a family affair, named after Tom and his three brothers: Sam and Harry, both 26, and Paddy, 17.

Tom took to Instagram to share his joy about the event. "What a night! Another huge success," he wrote. He explained how much The Brothers Trust means to him. He gave a big shout-out to his mom and her amazing friends for organizing such a fantastic evening. "Raising money for fantastic causes and having a blast doing it," he added.

He didn’t forget to thank his dad, Dominic, either. Tom mentioned his father "taking over after I left," jokingly adding that "the show became considerably more fun." He wrapped up his post by thanking everyone who came. Special thanks went to the raffle winners and global supporters who helped raise much-needed funds for important charities.

Meanwhile, production for Spider-Man: Brand New Day didn’t completely stop. Marvel Studios kept things moving behind the scenes, even with Holland temporarily unable to film. Deadline reported on Tuesday, September 23, that Marvin Jones III has joined the cast. He will play the Marvel Comics villain Tombstone. Jones III previously voiced the character in the hit animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its upcoming sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

The new Spider-Man film promises a mix of familiar faces and exciting additions. Holland’s fiancée, Zendaya, will return as Peter Parker’s love interest, Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson. Also back are MCU regulars Jacob Batalon, playing Peter’s best friend Ned Leeds, and Mark Ruffalo, who will reprise his role as Avenger Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Among the fresh talents joining Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man movie, we’ll see Jon Bernthal returning to his MCU role as Frank Castle/The Punisher from the Disney+ Daredevil series. Michael Mando is also back as the criminal Mac Gargan/Scorpion, a character he faced off against in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Adding to the excitement, Sadie Sink from Stranger Things and Emmy-winning actress Liza ColĂłn-Zayas from The Bear have also been cast in roles that are still a secret.

Holland gave fans a sneak peek at his new Spider-Man suit when filming for Brand New Day began in August. He posted a first look on Instagram. "My fourth first day on Spider-Man," he captioned the picture. "You know, it’s funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time, somehow." He also noted it was the first time fans were on set for day one, making it extra special. "So it’s really exciting to share this with them. I’m going to do my best. Hope I do well. No pressure."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
