Macron: Trump Must End Gaza War for Nobel Peace Prize

Macron advises Trump: If you want a Nobel Peace Prize, you must end the Gaza war.

French President Emmanuel Macron recently delivered a clear message to Donald Trump. Macron stated that if Trump truly desires a Nobel Peace Prize, his most crucial task is to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza. The French leader believes the United States holds a unique power. Only America, he suggested, can pressure Israel enough to stop the fighting.

Macron shared these thoughts during an interview with France’s BFM TV while in New York. He spoke shortly after Trump’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly. Macron pointed out that Trump is the only person who can truly make a difference in the Gaza situation. He explained that other nations cannot do as much because they are not supplying weapons for the war.

“We do not provide the weapons that allow the war in Gaza to happen,” Macron said. “We do not provide the equipment that makes the war in Gaza possible. But the United States does.” This direct statement highlighted what Macron sees as America’s unique role.

During his address at the UN, Trump had disagreed with Western allies. These allies support creating a Palestinian state. Trump argued that such a move would reward the Hamas militant group. Still, Trump also stated, “We must end the war in Gaza immediately. We must negotiate peace immediately.”

Macron quickly responded to Trump’s words. “I see an American President who is involved,” Macron said. “He said repeatedly from this stage this morning, ‘I want peace. I have ended seven conflicts.'” Macron then challenged him directly. “The one who wants the Nobel Peace Prize,” he continued, “the Nobel Peace Prize will only be possible if you end this conflict.”

Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize before. Several nations, including Cambodia, Israel, and Pakistan, put his name forward. These nominations recognized his work in mediating peace talks or ceasefires. The White House has also maintained that Trump has done more for peace than all other leaders at the UN meeting combined.
