A new program called the “Trump Gold Card” has launched, offering a fast track to U.S. permanent residency for wealthy foreign nationals. This unique visa, priced at a hefty $1 million per individual, or $2 million for businesses, is now available directly through a government website. It is designed to attract substantial foreign investment.
Former President Donald Trump announced this initiative, framing it as a way to reform immigration and benefit American taxpayers. He stated on his Truth Social platform that the country needed to update its immigration system. The program aims to generate over $100 billion quickly, money that could then be used for tax cuts, economic development projects, and reducing national debt.
The Gold Card itself features a distinctive design. It shows an image of President Trump alongside the Statue of Liberty and the American flag, all set against a golden background. The words “Trump Gold Card” are clearly visible on the left side, marking its exclusive nature.
Those interested in the Gold Card can apply online at trumpcard.gov. The application process begins with a non-refundable processing fee, followed by a thorough background check. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts this deep dive into each applicant’s history.
Successful applicants receive Legal Permanent Resident status, commonly known as a Green Card. This allows them to live and enjoy rights in all U.S. states and territories, typically under EB-1 or EB-2 visa categories. However, the status is not absolute; it can be revoked if the holder poses a national security risk or other serious concerns.
The Platinum Tier
Looking ahead, the U.S. government also plans to introduce an even more exclusive option: the “Trump Platinum Card.” This card will cost $5 million. It is designed for investors who wish to reside in the U.S. for up to 270 days each year. A key benefit is that holders would not need to pay U.S. taxes on income earned outside the country. This Platinum Card is expected to replace traditional tourist visas for high-net-worth individuals in the future.
While the Platinum Card is not yet officially launched, the government website advises interested individuals to join a waitlist. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis once the program goes live. This hints at high demand for these premium residency options.
