GBBO’s John Whaite Leaves OnlyFans, Finds New Purpose in Bakery Business

It looks like celebrity chef John Whaite is cooking up a new chapter. The popular star from Great British Bake Off recently announced he’s stepping away from OnlyFans. It’s a big move for the baker, but one he says is full of purpose.

Whaite, 36, shared the news on Instagram this past Tuesday, September 16th. "I’m leaving OnlyFans," he wrote. He explained that his life has taken an unexpected turn. His new ventures, Ruff Puff Bakehouse and Ruff Puff Brownies, have demanded a lot of his time. But he called this the "best possible way" for things to change. He added that these new projects have brought back a talent he had put aside. They also gave him a fresh appreciation for the baking craft that started his journey years ago.

Whaite shot to fame in 2012 after winning The Great British Bake Off. He first announced Ruff Puff Bakehouse back in April. It’s a return to his roots, embracing the skills that made him a household name. This new path seems to have given him a clear view of what truly matters to him.

"Working closely with my team, building something real and lasting, has shown me where my true worth lies," he posted on Tuesday. He realizes his value isn’t about muscles or body image. Instead, it’s in creating, baking, and sharing. He shared that he feels a real sense of purpose again, something he hasn’t felt since Bake Off 13 years ago. It’s a powerful statement about finding joy in your craft.

Whaite made it clear that closing his OnlyFans page isn’t an end. He sees it as the start of a fresh chapter. This new path, he said, is all about passion, creativity, and community. He’s clearly thrilled about what’s ahead. "I couldn’t be more ready," he finished.

He also thanked his fans and fellow creators on OnlyFans for their support. "I wish you all the very best and much success," he wrote, adding a heart emoji. "I’m not Jonny Boy, I’m just John, and I’m taking one step at a time like everyone else." This heartfelt message shows he’s moving forward with gratitude and humility.

Since announcing Ruff Puff Bakehouse, Whaite has kept his fans updated. He’s given them behind-the-scenes looks. He also thanked his over 300,000 followers for their constant support. The community he’s building around his baking is clearly important to him.

"I was completely worn out after a two-day soft launch that sold out every item," he posted on Instagram in July. He shared that he never thought he’d actually open a bakery. Making laminated dough from scratch has been a dream of his. He dreamt it even before he was the messy-haired newcomer who won The Great British Bake Off. He just didn’t know back then that he wouldn’t do it alone.

He shared a series of photos and videos, including close-ups of trays of pastries. In the post, Whaite thanked his "amazing team" and his "wonderful customers." "It was pure joy to see happy faces," he concluded in his message. He loved watching customers enjoy their chewy, sticky corncakes. He also enjoyed seeing them brush croissant flakes from their chins. "Thank you for supporting our small business," he wrote. "We hope to serve you for many years to come." It sounds like John Whaite has found his sweet spot again.
