U. Leiria: New FPF Disciplinary Action for Unpaid Wages

Financial troubles are once again casting a shadow over U. Leiria’s Football Anonymous Society. The FPF Disciplinary Council has opened a new case against the club. This action comes due to unpaid wages owed to players, former players, and coaches. The issues span the months of May through August.

This situation feels all too familiar. Just a year ago, similar financial problems surfaced during the same period. Back then, the club only managed to sort things out by September. Now, the U. Leiria SAD finds itself entangled in this cycle once more. They have until Monday to prove that no basic salaries or monthly compensation are still owed to their players and coaching staff.

Despite the ongoing investigation, there’s a glimmer of progress. The sports newspaper Record reports some movement on the payment front. Several overdue salaries have already been settled. However, there are still monthly bonus amounts that need to be addressed. The hope is that the club can fully clear its outstanding debts soon.
