Talk about a scare. Fashion influencer Flor Marian Izaguirre Pineda, a familiar face to millions online, recently caused a collective gasp of worry. Fans and followers breathed a huge sigh of relief when news broke that she was found safe and sound after being reported missing in Uruapan, Mexico.
The Michoacán Attorney General’s Office confirmed the happy update. Marian, who is 23 years old, was located last Saturday, September 6. Local media outlet El Financiero shared this crucial information. She was discovered at a hotel in Morelia, where she had reportedly been staying for a few days. Authorities also found her vehicle parked there. Officials released a statement saying, "She was seen by paramedics and taken to a hospital." The investigation continues as police work to "clarify the facts" surrounding her disappearance.
News of Marian’s absence first hit the airwaves on September 1. Her fans, all 4 million and counting on TikTok, quickly spread the word. Michoacán’s Alba Alert system helped share the urgent message. The report stated that Izaguirre was last seen around 6 p.m., driving a red Kia Rio.
Days before she vanished, Marian — known online as Marian Izaguirre — had posted a peculiar video. In the August clip, she was seen with colorful clown makeup on her face. She lip-synced to a song called "Why Do You Go?" At one point, she seemed to get emotional while filming the short video series. Her caption for the TikTok post, translated into English, read: "All the promises of my love will go with you. Why do you go?" After her disappearance, the comments section of that video quickly filled up with concerned messages. One user wrote, "Hope they find you safe and sound, bg," while another added, "God will protect you and bring you back."
This unsettling event for Marian Izaguirre followed closely on the heels of a much darker story. Just days earlier, on August 22, TikTok star Esmeralda Ferrer Garibay and her entire family were found dead in Mexico. The Daily Mail reported in August that Esmeralda, 32, her husband Roberto Carlos Gil Licea, 36, and their two children, Gael Santiago, 13, and Regina, 7, were discovered inside a car.
Prosecutor Alfonso GutiĂ©rrez Santillán told The Daily Mail that investigators had processed the scene. They found many clues pointing to the family being killed right there. He added that while official forensic results weren’t out yet, "ballistic and blood tests almost certainly confirm they were killed at that spot." Esmeralda, who had over 41,000 TikTok followers, had moved with her family to the Guadalajara metropolitan area for work just months before this tragedy.
