Did you catch every single detail in the latest season of Wednesday? Turns out, many fans, myself included, missed a pretty wild secret. The talented artists behind Jenna Ortega’s iconic Wednesday Addams look just pulled back the curtain. They shared a video showing exactly how they brought those spooky scars to life. And honestly, it makes you want to rewatch the whole thing.
The glam squad gave us a peek behind the scenes. They posted a new TikTok video on Thursday, September 4. In it, they laid out their complete process for Wednesday’s look in Season 2. It goes from the first hair brushstroke to the very last drop of fake blood.
Crafting Wednesday’s Signature Style
First, the team tackled Ortega’s jet-black hair. They made sure it was super smooth. Then, they carefully braided it into her well-known style. Her signature open bangs were also locked into place. This kept them perfect during filming. But the real surprise came next.
As makeup was applied, the team placed a special prosthetic scar. It was hidden on the back of Ortega’s hair part. To make this scar look totally real, they used a black brush. With it, they added tiny hair strands directly onto the prosthetic. They even gave it more depth by adding fake blood right in the middle. It truly looked like a fresh wound.

For the finishing touch, they even stuck fake staples onto the prosthetic. This made it look like the wound had been "treated." Ortega’s overall makeup also included some fake cuts on her face. More staples appeared near her bangs. The team captioned their post, "Jenna Ortega’s prep as Wednesday in part 2."

Fans React with Surprise
Fans jumped into the comments quickly. Many admitted they hadn’t noticed the scar at all while watching the recent episodes. These episodes dropped on Netflix on Wednesday, September 3.
"Am I the only one who never noticed that behind her head? 😭😭" one fan wrote. Another chimed in, saying, "If you look again, there are very few clips in episode 5 where her head is in frame and you see [the cuts]." A third person confessed, "Oh, wow, I didn’t even notice Wednesday had a wound."
It turns out Wednesday’s injuries come from a pivotal moment. At the end of Season 2 Part 1, Tyler "The Hyde" Galpin, played by Hunter Doohan, threw her through a window. That intense scene was a cliffhanger leading into Season 2 Part 2. The attention to detail from the makeup team is truly something else.
