OnlyFans sensation Sophie Rain isn’t holding back after NBA star Michael Porter Jr. questioned her staggering $82 million income. She’s calling out what she sees as a double standard when it comes to how people view wealth, depending on who earns it.
“It’s funny how guys can dribble a ball and get $30 million checks, and no one calls that ‘pathetic’,” said Rain, who is 20 years old, according to reports from Complex. “But if a woman builds a business from nothing and makes more than some of the best players, suddenly it’s a moral crisis.”
The whole back-and-forth started on Friday, August 29. Porter, a 27-year-old player, brought up Rain’s earnings during a Twitch live stream.
“To me, it’s kind of pathetic that guys are giving her $50 million, brother… they’re just in their little room doing weird things,” he commented. He quickly added that he wasn’t trying to judge Rain herself. “To me, that’s just wild,” he concluded.
The Brooklyn Nets forward didn’t stop there. He also wondered if her content was truly her own. He guessed, “They’re probably talking to some guy in the Philippines who manages her account.” Porter also made it clear that he’s never been an OnlyFans user himself.
Rain, however, quickly shut down the idea that she doesn’t run her own show. “They love to act like everything is smoke and mirrors,” she fired back. “But nobody was offering me a contract, a coach, or a brand deal when I was 19.” She underlined her personal effort. “I worked 14-hour days, I answered every single direct message, I edited every post. Nobody faked that kind of hard work.”
Just last month, the adult content creator made headlines for another bold claim. She suggested she “almost earned more” than NBA legend LeBron James in the past year.
“He made $56 million, and I made $43 million,” Rain shared during David Dobrik’s YouTube vlog in August. Dobrik, who is 29, then asked her about her total earnings for 2025 so far.
“I saw some rumors on Twitter about how much money you make,” Dobrik mentioned. Rain confirmed that those rumors were “all true.” She added, “No one believes me, but it’s very, very true.”
Dobrik then showed viewers a screenshot of her bank account. It clearly displayed a grand total of $82 million. Rain explained that she had earned this eye-popping amount over “the last year and a half.”
“I’m super nervous,” she admitted, sharing a common worry among those who strike it rich quickly. “I’m paranoid that all this could just vanish tomorrow.” Dobrik tried to calm her fears, assuring her, “$82 million doesn’t just disappear tomorrow.”
Later, Dobrik read out a report of Rain’s earnings. It showed she made $28,472 in just one hour and pulled in $3.4 million in July alone. Rain also revealed her big goal: she hopes to hit $100 million in earnings. On a more personal note, she said she isn’t looking for a romantic partner who just wants to follow in her footsteps. “I’m looking for someone who doesn’t know who I am,” she said, before adding, “which is hard.”
