Manoj Bajpayee: OTT a blessing for talent, mainstream films lack merit.

Manoj Bajpayee stands out as one of Bollywood’s most gifted actors. He’s known for bringing unique characters to life. Recently, he shared his thoughts on the streaming world, often called OTT. He believes it’s a true blessing for artists like him. Bajpayee also pointed out key differences between big-screen movies and shows made for OTT platforms. He even suggests that some OTT stories are stronger than what you see in theaters.

His main point? Big-screen films in India often don’t prioritize raw talent. Instead, their success is measured by how much money they make at the box office. He told the Asian News International (ANI) that OTT platforms work differently. Here, a good story and strong acting talent are what truly matter, not just ticket sales.

A Journey Across Screens

Bajpayee himself has built a career on both big and small screens. He started his acting journey with films like ‘Dastak’ and ‘Droh Kaal’. More recently, he became a major star in the OTT space. His performances in shows like ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ have earned him widespread praise. This actor, who has seen success in both worlds, clearly sees a big difference between them.

A Blessing for Talent

Bajpayee didn’t hold back, saying, “I have to say this with sadness.” He believes many mainstream films in India don’t rely on acting skill. They only care about the box office numbers. For him, OTT is the exact opposite. He stressed, “Here you need a good story and good talent. Only then can something happen.” He’s witnessed this shift firsthand over the last seven years. For artists who value storytelling and performance above all else, streaming services offer a welcome home.

Bajpayee’s Latest Work

Right now, Manoj Bajpayee is buzzing about his upcoming film, ‘Inspector Jende’. This new movie is set to release on OTT on September 5th. Bajpayee will take on the role of a police officer, a character his fans often enjoy. The trailer for the film is already out, building excitement. Chinmay D. Mandlekar directed ‘Inspector Jende’. Jay Shevakramani and Om Raut produced the film.
