He plans to go against the law. A general practitioner from Le Mans (Sarthe) wants to impose the health pass on his patients.
“I finished with pedagogy. I’m tired. My medical practice is certainly a private setting, but it welcomes the public. I no longer want to endanger the health of my patients, nor mine ”, explains the man, who prefers to remain anonymous, to Western france.
As of September 1, before each visit, patients must present a vaccination certificate or “A PCR test of less than 24 hours excluding holidays or weekdays, or less than 72 hours on weekends.”
However, medical practices are not affected by the requirement of a health pass, unlike nursing homes, medico-social establishments and hospitals (except in the case of a medical emergency).
Therefore, the 55-year-old practitioner is subject to penalties. “It is out of the question for a doctor to request a health pass to receive a patient”, warns Franck-Dominique Bruel, president of the Council of the Order of Doctors of Sarthe, interviewed by Ouest-France. According to the regional newspaper, if the doctor implements his announcement, he could be the subject of a complaint to the regional disciplinary chamber of the Order of Physicians, in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique). Then he would risk a reprimand or even a ban on practicing.
