Fans of Salman Khan’s 2019 film ‘Bharat’ might remember a puzzle. Actor Varun Dhawan was set to appear in a fun guest role. He even filmed scenes with Salman. But when the movie hit theaters, viewers noticed something missing. Varun’s cameo was nowhere to be found. For years, fans wondered what happened. Now, the film’s Assistant Director, Ravi Chhabriya, has finally shared the secret.
Chhabriya, who also worked on big films like ‘Sultan’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, recently spoke to Bollywood Hungama. He explained why Varun Dhawan’s scene was cut from ‘Bharat’. The assistant director confirmed the scene was indeed shot. However, it was later removed during the final editing process. He said it was entirely the producer Atul Agnihotri’s choice.
The Cameo Was Removed by the Producer’s Decision
Ravi Chhabriya confirmed that the scene was filmed. But when the movie was being finalized, the decision was made to take it out. This choice came directly from the producer, Atul Agnihotri.

What Was That Deleted Scene Like?
Ravi also shared fun details about the cameo itself. The scene was filmed during the part of the movie where Salman Khan’s character works in the Middle Eastern oil fields. Varun Dhawan’s character made an appearance there. The scene showed a playful back-and-forth between the two stars. They even arm-wrestled, showing off their strength. This little moment was meant to add a lighthearted twist to the film. But, as we know, it didn’t make the final cut.
Salman-Varun’s Special Bonding
It’s no secret that Varun Dhawan is a huge fan of Salman Khan. He has often said that he has looked up to Salman as his superstar since he was a child. Salman, in turn, has always supported Varun. Varun’s father, David Dhawan, and Salman have created many hit movies together. Films like ‘Judwaa’ and ‘Biwi No. 1’ are famous examples. Because of this history, Salman and Varun’s friendship is always a popular topic in the film world.
The Two Stars Came Together Again
Even though fans missed seeing Salman and Varun together in ‘Bharat’, they did team up later. The two stars reunited for the film ‘Baby John’. However, that movie did not perform well. Audiences did not seem to like it much.
