A new movie is stirring up quite a fuss in the film world. It’s called ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal.’ What makes it special? It’s completely made using Artificial Intelligence, or AI. The people behind the film recently shared its poster and announced its release date for next year, set for Hanuman Jayanti. This news has certainly gotten people talking.
Among the many reactions, one well-known actor, Ranveer Singh, threw in his two cents. He simply commented “Wow” and added a clapping emoji. It was a short and sweet remark. However, this small comment opened a floodgate of opinions, not all of them positive. His fans and other internet users quickly jumped in, and many of them weren’t happy.
Ranveer’s “Wow” Stirs Up Debate
People started asking Ranveer Singh why he would support a movie created by AI. One user wrote, “This is an AI film. One day, they will make films without you using AI. Why are you supporting this film that lacks creativity?” Another person wondered if Ranveer’s praise was meant to be sarcastic. They asked, “Did you really praise it or just expressed opposition sarcastically?” The general feeling was that an AI-made film might take away jobs from human artists.
Directors Speak Out Strongly
The controversy wasn’t just limited to fans. Two prominent film directors also voiced strong opposition. Anurag Kashyap, known for his unique films, was visibly angry. He specifically called out Vijay Subramaniam, who produced the film and is also the founder-CEO of Collective Artist Network. Kashyap shared the movie poster on Instagram and didn’t hold back.
He pointed out that Subramaniam claims to represent artists, writers, and directors. Yet, he is making an AI film. Kashyap believes this is a direct betrayal of the artists whose talent and hard work these agencies depend on. He even said that any self-respecting actor or artist should question this agency or leave it. Kashyap used very strong language, stating that such people in the Hindi film industry are “spineless” and belong in the “gutter.”
Another director, Vikramaditya Motwane, also took a swipe at the project. He posted on his Instagram Story, writing, “So it has begun… when AI does everything, who needs writers and directors?” His comment highlights a growing worry in the industry. It seems this AI-generated film has certainly kick-started a big conversation about the future of creativity in entertainment.
