Sharma explained that getting Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol on board for this film was surprisingly easy. All three Deols deeply desired to make another movie together. They specifically wanted him to direct it. Sharma vividly recalls the moment the story for the first ‘Apne’ film came to him. The family was overjoyed.
