Prince William, Kate Middleton Moving Home for New Beginning After Cancer Remission

Get ready for a royal reshuffle! Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton are packing up their lives and preparing for a big move. The couple, both 43, will be relocating their family later this year.

“The Wales family will be moving house later this year,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed to Us Weekly, a prominent entertainment news source.

William and Kate have been married since 2011. They have three adorable children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 6. For the past three years, their home has been Adelaide Cottage in England. But a fresh chapter is about to begin.

This move marks a significant moment for the family. A royal source told The Sun that William and Kate see it as a “new beginning.” It comes after a challenging period for Kate, following her cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recent remission.

Kate stepped away from her public duties last year after receiving a diagnosis of an undisclosed type of cancer. The Princess of Wales confirmed her diagnosis in March 2024. She took a break from royal duties to undergo chemotherapy. In January, Kate revealed she was in remission.

During a July visit to Colchester Hospital in Essex, Kate opened up about her recovery. “You put on a brave, stoic face during treatment,” she shared. “Treatment ends, and you think, ‘I can keep going, get back to normal,’ but the after-phase is very, very difficult.” She explained that once treatment stops, you’re not always under a doctor’s care. Yet, you might not be able to function normally at home as you did before.

Kate stressed the value of support during this time. “Someone to help you talk about this, to show and guide you through that post-treatment stage, I think is very valuable,” she added. “It’s a rollercoaster. It’s not simple, as you hoped, but the reality is you go through difficult times.”

Through all of Kate’s health journey, William has been her rock. A source told Us Weekly in July 2024 that William has been “very involved lately,” taking charge of family activities and routines. “Kate loves seeing him in this role, and this has strengthened their bond,” the source shared. They provide emotional support to each other, with William being a “constant source of strength.”

A second source added that William and Kate are truly “in their element” when they are with their children. “William is very devoted to Kate and his family,” the source noted. “And Kate loves celebrating him. They are so in love.”

Kate has slowly started getting back to her public engagements. This summer, she made appearances at the annual Trooping the Colour parade. She also attended the Wimbledon tennis championship.
