The private life of well-known Kannada actor Ajay Rao seems to be hitting a rough patch. Reports say his wife, Sapna, has filed a complaint against him. The complaint, made under the Domestic Violence Act, reportedly also names their daughter. More details about the case are not yet public.
Ajay Rao and Sapna had dated for many years before getting married. They tied the knot on December 18, 2014. The ceremony took place in Hospet, Karnataka, with only family and close friends attending.
Just this year, in 2024, Ajay and Sapna moved into their new home in Bengaluru. They held a housewarming party, inviting many stars from the Kannada film industry. It was a festive occasion, full of celebration.
However, soon after this happy event, rumors of trouble in their marriage began to surface. News of their relationship facing difficulties started spreading quickly online. Still, neither the actor nor his wife has spoken officially about these issues.
The couple welcomed their daughter into the world in 2019. Sapna’s complaint against Ajay Rao was filed in the Magistrate Court. It was made under Section 12 of the Domestic Violence Act.
Ajay Rao first entered the Kannada film industry as a lead actor in 2003. His debut movie was ‘Excuse Me’. Before that, he had a smaller role in Sudeep’s film ‘Kiccha’. Over his career, he has starred in several well-known movies. These include ‘Taj Mahal’, ‘Prem Kahani’, ‘Krishnan Love Story’, ‘Krishnan Marriage Story’, and ‘Krishna-Leela’.
