The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Kseniya Alexandrova, a familiar face from the Miss Universe stage. The former first runner-up of Miss Russia 2017 passed away at just 30 years old. Her death occurred on Tuesday, August 12, following a tragic car accident in July.
Alexandrova was involved in a collision in Russia’s Tver region, as reported by Hola!, citing RG. She was in the passenger seat while her husband, Ilya, was driving. A sudden impact with an elk crossing the road sent the animal crashing through their windshield. This terrible incident caused a severe head injury to Alexandrova. Fortunately, her husband, Ilya, was not harmed in the crash.
Following the accident, Alexandrova was rushed to the Sklifosovsky Institute of Emergency Medicine. She remained in the intensive care unit there until her passing.
Her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, shared the heartbreaking news with the public. Alexandrova had begun working with them when she was just 19. The agency released a statement on social media, expressing their profound sorrow.
“With deep regret, we announce that our colleague and friend, model Ksenia Alexandrova, passed away last night,” the agency’s post read, translated from Russian. “Ksenia was brilliant, talented, and extraordinarily luminous. She knew how to inspire, support, and bring warmth to everyone around her. For us, she will always be a symbol of beauty, kindness, and inner strength.”
The message continued, “We sincerely mourn her loss and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ksenia. A bright memory…”
The Miss Universe Organization also honored Alexandrova, sharing a moving tribute on their Instagram. The post included a collection of photos from her time in the pageant. It featured her speaking about her hopes for a better world.

“But I want all people in the world to believe in themselves and always have a dream,” Alexandrova said in the video. “We must be strong, believe in ourselves, and never give up on our dreams. In this world, anything is possible, and nothing is impossible.”
The accompanying text from the Miss Universe Organization read: “The Miss Universe Organization sends its most heartfelt and deepest condolences to the family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by the light of Miss Universe Russia 2017, Kseniya Alexandrova. Her grace, beauty, and spirit left an indelible mark on the Miss Universe family and beyond. May her memory continue to inspire kindness, strength, and love in all who were fortunate enough to know her. 🤍🕊️”
Alexandrova was much more than a beauty queen. She was a television presenter and a dedicated psychologist. Her academic journey was extensive, showing her passion for learning. In 2016, she earned a degree in finance and credit from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. She later completed her studies at the Ostankino Higher School of Cinema and Television in 2020. In 2022, she graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical University with a degree in psychology. She then became a certified psychodrama therapist.
Her passing came just four short months after a joyful milestone. Kseniya and Ilya were married on March 22. She had shared beautiful photos of their wedding day on her Instagram in April.
“I remember every second, and it feels like I’m still reliving the whirlwind of emotions :)” her post read, translated from Russian. “There was so much love, joy, and sincere feelings on this day that my heart is still full of them. Thank you to everyone who was with us, it’s invaluable! 🙏🏻”
The world has lost a truly remarkable individual who inspired many with her beauty, intelligence, and a powerful message of hope.
