Decisions Made Together, With Medical Advice

The family’s statement explained their position. “We are deeply saddened,” the statement read, “by the wrong, misleading, and hurtful image Faissal has created of his mother Zeenat Tahir Hussain, sister Nikhat Hegde, and brother Aamir.” They emphasized that every decision concerning Faissal was made collectively. They also consulted with many medical professionals.

They added that these choices were always made with love and compassion. Their main goal was to care for Faissal’s emotional and psychological health. This is why they had chosen not to speak publicly about these difficult family matters until now.

Family Members Included in Statement

The Khan family also made a direct appeal to the media. They asked for sensitivity and requested that the issue not be turned into mere gossip. The statement represents the entire family’s views. It includes Aamir Khan himself. Also listed are his ex-wives Reena Dutt and Kiran Rao, and his children Ira, Junaid, and Azad. His sisters Nikhat and Farhat, along with other cousins, also put their names on the statement.
