RoRo Bueno: Viral TikTok Cooking Star’s Rise to Fame

For a moment, Spanish social media star RoRo Bueno tried her hand at fitness videos. The 24-year-old influencer shared exercise routines almost every day. She included motivational messages and tips. But her plan changed, and the outcome was bigger than she could have imagined.

On May 18, 2024, RoRo posted a cooking video. It featured a sophisticated and creative recipe: pappardelle-style pasta with orange duck ragu. She started the video by saying her boyfriend really wanted pasta. Her sweet voice, which she says is natural and carefully crafted for her content, added to its charm.

Suddenly, the video exploded online. RoRo found herself swept up in the curiosity of TikTok users. The line, “My boyfriend Pablo wanted…” became her signature phrase. This phrase sparked a big debate. Some saw it as pleasing her partner, while others thought it promoted the “tradwife” lifestyle. RoRo later denied this.

In an interview from February of this year, RoRo shared just how massive the orange duck ragu video had become. It had hit 77 million views. Today, it has soared past 83 million.

Before that viral moment, RoRo had never posted a cooking recipe. It was pure luck, she explained, that TikTok’s algorithm picked it up and sent it soaring. She noted that this type of cooking content was not common in Spain. Her key to success and fame has been consistently adding more delicious preparations.

Another reason for RoRo’s amazing rise is her skill. She can make pasta, rice, and even cheese completely from scratch, using only basic ingredients. It’s truly impressive to watch. Plus, she’s a beautiful and appealing personality, which certainly helps her videos stand out.

The Controversies Around RoRo’s Boyfriend-Pleasing Videos

RoRo and Pablo Santos knew each other slightly before. They truly connected at the Pontifical University of Comillas in Madrid. Both were studying Translation and Interpretation. Pablo made the first move, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Since many of her cooking videos began with phrases like “My boyfriend wanted…” or “My boyfriend felt like…”, some people online started to accuse her. They claimed she was pushing the “tradwife” idea. This concept refers to a “traditional wife” and some believed it went against modern feminist movements.

However, RoRo has explained many times that she does consider herself a feminist. She just doesn’t identify with radical groups who might label her a “slave.” She stresses that she cooks because she loves it, not because she has to. And to top it off, Pablo always helps clean the kitchen.

More recently, RoRo even stepped into the boxing ring for ‘La Velada del Año’ combat event. She lost her fight against Abby, another influencer with a growing following. But the event boosted RoRo to a whole new level of fame. She’s also written her own recipe book and competed in cooking shows. On TikTok, RoRo truly is like a top model of content creation.
