New faces always bring new stories to a football club. For Alverca, the air around their 2025/26 season feels different. Much of that fresh feeling comes from Gian Cabezas, a midfielder from Colombia. He has arrived with big hopes for his time with the club.
Cabezas joins Alverca from Deportivo Cali. His agent, Hamed Dário Correia, shared what makes this young player special. “He is a very skilled player,” Correia explained. “He sees the game well on the field.”
Correia added that Cabezas can “break through defenses” and “get into attacking spots.” The agent also highlighted his “great burst of speed” and ability to “use both feet.” “He is a real talent,” Correia said. “We are sure he will do well at Alverca.”
But not every story in football goes as planned. Take goalkeeper Yannick Etile, for example. He almost joined Alverca. Etile even had medical tests with the club. He trained with the team during their pre-season camp in Palmela.
However, Etile’s path changed direction. Instead of staying in Portugal, he moved to French football. He eventually signed with Paris 13 Atlético. So, while some new faces are just starting their journey at Alverca, others have already moved on. The focus now is clearly on players like Cabezas, full of promise for the season ahead.
