Vizela made a clear statement about their goals this week. They welcomed Andrea Hristov, a 26-year-old center-back, to the squad. Coach Ricardo Sousa now has new talent for his defensive line. Hristov joins from Cosenza, a club that played in Italy’s second division last season. He signed a contract until 2027, with an option for another year.
Hristov wasted no time sharing his excitement. “What truly excites me is Vizela’s ambition,” the Bulgarian player told the club’s media. “This team wants to get back into the First League. For me, that’s a huge step. My main goal is to win the Second League championship with Vizela.” He explained that this strong desire to win was a big reason he took on this new challenge.
Beyond the football, Hristov is also looking forward to a fresh start. “I’m very excited to be here,” he added. “It’s a chance to move to a new country, meet different people, and experience new traditions. But the club’s ambition really stood out to me.”
Hristov began his career at Slavia Sofia. He then spent several years gaining valuable experience in Italy’s lower football divisions. He describes himself as a smart player on the field. “When the situation demands it, I can also be very aggressive,” he noted. “I balance both of these qualities in my game.”
